More SK #4 Reviews Rolling In

In and around holiday festivities we\’ve had a few new Skullkickers #4 reviews roll in.

\"\"

\”Jim Zub’s writing is fun and breezy, Edwin Huang and Misty Coats provide some great, anime style art with crisp, clean colors, and the whole thing is just, well… Fun.\”

\"\"

\”Skullkickers is a D&D inspired world where, like the game itself, the deeper you get into it the better it gets. With each issue Zubkavich is able to squeeze in more tropes of the fantasy world and then make them a) awesome and b) hilarious. It’s all about awesome action and big laughs — it’s a great mix.\”

\"\"

\”Skullkickers is easily one of my favorite comics being published right now and this issue is another prime example of why. It’s big, bold, and bodacious in its unrelenting awesomeness. It has memorable characters, great action, and a unique sense of humor that sets it apart from every other book on the stands. \”

\"\"

\”Skullkickers continues to be a fun read\”…\”I like this comic; I\’ve decided to add it to my pull-list, and wish it great success. \”

Dwarf Christmas Ornament!

\"\"

My good friend Tory Woollcott made up a fantastically cute little Dwarf Skullkickers Christmas ornament. I\’ve had it for a couple weeks but wanted to make sure it was photographed on the tree and properly lit, so here it is!

He\’s got the beard braids, ponytail and angry eyebrows… so awesome!

Tory, you rock.

A Couple Reviews of SK #4

• Multiversity Comics is enjoying Skullkickers more with each issue released. They give the latest one an 8.2/10!

\”Skullkickers is further proof that most of the things people flock to the big two for can be found in other comics, and it\’s damn good too. Help diversify the industry: drop a cape comic and pick up Skullkickers.\”

• Laughing Ogre Comics has made Skullkickers #4 one of their recommended picsk of the week.

\”This series continues to impress. As simple as it seems, the best word to describe Skullkickers is \’fun.\’\”

Comic Buzz Advance Review for SK#4

\"\"

Comic Buzz is first out of the gate with an advance review of Skullkickers #4.

\”Here I am happily waiting for this comic to show me that the impressive debut (and next few issues) were just a fluke in that they were great reads. Then issue four puts me in my begrudging place by probably being the strongest issue of this sickeningly good run. 9/10\”

\"\"

Skullkickers cover artist Chris Stevens is the special guest of the upcoming Charlotte Minicon taking place Jan 22nd in Charlotte North Carolina. If you live in the area you should definitely swing by and get your SK comics signed.

Reminder: Edwin & Zub in Boston/Woburn This Weekend!

Edwin and Zub are flying in to Boston this afternoon as part of a day and a half event being organized by retailer Larry\’s Wonderful World of Comics for the Woborn Warehouse comic show.

Larry\’s Comics sells a series of exclusive comic variant covers promoting titles he feels are hot or up-and-coming for the comic industry. Soon after Skullkickers #1 came out he contacted Image about getting a variant produced for his store. Usually the variants are just line art or recoloured versions of the regular issue\’s cover but we wanted to make sure SK stood out, so Edwin and colorist Espen Grundetjern put together this eye-catching new cover piece:

SK #1 Retailer Variant (limited to 1000 copies)

If you live in the Boston area we\’d be thrilled to meet you at the show! Besides signing autographs and chatting it up with comic fans, we\’ll be looking for a piece of pin-up art featuring the Skullkickers to spotlight in issue 5 (arriving in stores late January).

It should be a really fun weekend.
